Ervin Photography is located in the Omar Baking Building, which once housed a business that filled its midtown neighborhood with the smells of baking bread.

Erected in 1923, the Omar Baking Company building was one of four in the Midwest, with additional bakeries in Milwaukee, Columbus and Indianapolis. The 37 Omar mills across the country produced the highest quality flour. Omar employees delivered bread and other baked goods to homes and retail outlets.

The building’s restoration meticulously retained the flavors of its history, incorporating into its new design many original elements, such as delivery doors and the ladder where employees added flour to the giant dough mixers. The end result is a beautifully restored structure that masterfully blends old and new to create one of the city’s more unique office, arts and event spaces.
